Pharmasave: Senior Offers Vary by Store

If you have seen a Pharmasave seniors day described with one set age, one set percentage and one set day, that description came from a single store, not from the chain. Pharmasave itself publishes no national seniors day. Its own site gives the reason plainly: its stores are 100% owned by independent pharmacy owners and operate independently under local ownership. A chain whose stores belong to their owners does not set one seniors day for all of them.

How to find out what your store offers

1. Check your own store’s page on the Pharmasave site, or its current flyer, for any senior offer.
2. If nothing is posted, ask in store whether the store runs a seniors day or any standing offer for older customers.
3. If it does, ask the age, the percentage and the day before you plan a shop around it, and write the answers down.

The store pages themselves show how wide the variation runs. One Ontario store runs a seniors day every Monday with an extra 10% off. Several Ontario stores have posted one day seniors day events at 20% off regular priced products. One British Columbia store flyer offered 15% on Wednesdays. Each of those is a real offer at a real store. None of them is a promise that your store makes, and none of them sets the age or the day for the store in the next town.

The fine print for this entry is that there is no chain fine print to quote. There is no national age to qualify at, no national percentage to expect, and no national day to circle on the calendar. Anything you read that presents those as Pharmasave policy has taken one store’s offer and dressed it up as the chain’s.

Practical tip: ask once at your own store and note what they tell you. A local offer can change when a store changes hands or changes its mind, so ask again if some time has passed.
